London Magician TJ Shoesmith Aboard the High Seas on M V Edwardian with Oliver Myles

We are delighted to share Tim’s Blog with Oliver Myles clients.

I was invited to perform as a London Magician on the M V Edwardian. This is a beautiful boat which was apparently built by Richard Branson in the 1980s for his own personal use. It consists of a lower deck which appears to be modeled on a plush London club, with oak-panelled walls. There is also a bar to the rear of the boat and an open deck on the top from which one can see the London sites. It even includes a dance floor when required.

The event was for a small number of guests although the boat can sit 60 or more. The boat had been hired by the head of a London firm to entertain clients. The afternoon consisted of a trip on the London Eye followed by boarding the Edwardian on the South Bank and returning to London’s Butlers Wharf Pier.Mel from Oliver Myles, (a Boutique Event Agency with an impressive portfolio) was the event manager and kept everything moving smoothly. The open top deck really did give a spectacular view of London from the Southbank down to the 02 and back. I managed to take a few pictures of Tower Bridge.I worked on the top deck for small groups before the meal showing them close up magic. Once main course was finished I performed a short cabaret at the dinner table. Once guests were back on the top deck I finished with a few of my favourites. This was my first time back on a boat since my days of Cruising with Royal Caribbean. I have another booked in for later this month. There is certainly a different atmosphere aboard ship and it tends to bring out the best in people.I very much enjoyed the trip, although slightly choppy at times, the weather was great and the people fun and inviting.

Don’t Just Take Our Word For It

From my first contact with Oliver Myles I knew that we were in good hands.  We had an initial call to discuss what I was looking for and hoping for some advice.  This was followed by a face2face meeting to discuss a few options.  I decided to go for the Crime Scene Investigation.   For the evening dinner, I wanted a good quality restaurant with the option to have the pre-drinks outside.  One of the venues I was originally looking at was Oxo Tower, but having Fran dealing with them directly made such a difference.  She managed to have all our requirements met. The entire team thought that the Crime Scene Investigation was great.  The evening at the Oxo Tower was also a success.  Fran was with us on the day to make sure that everything went according to plan. As a busy EA, having Oliver Myles helping me with this event saved me time and money.  From start to finish this was a “stress free” experience. I have already contacted Fran for our next event and very much looking forward to working with her.
