Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it has since been the home of 39 monarchs. Today The Queen spends most of her private weekends at the Castle. In May 2018, Windsor was the setting for the Royal wedding between HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
In October Princess Eugenie will follow in their footsteps as she marries her fiancé Jack Brooksbank. The Castle has been the focus of International media attention this year.
Windsor Castle is close to the horse racing venue, Royal Ascot, the Queens favourite venue for this exhilarating sport. Every year she stays at the castle during the Royal Racing week, taking her horse drawn carriage to the races each day.
